Should we continue to allow internal British law to be controlled by the Human Rights Court in Strasbourg, with power to overrule our Parliament?

The power of our elected representatives is daily being transferred to appointed bodies, quangos and officials, and to unaccountable advisers, lawyers, diplomats and commissioners. The European Court of Human Rights is not the only threat.

But it is the most important. Unless we have the courage to take power away from the human rights vested interests, they will always have the final say.

What can we do about it? There is a first step we can take that would at least stop the situation getting worse. We can renounce the adherence of the United Kingdom to Articles 25 (the right of individual petition) and Article 46 (compulsory jurisdiction) of the European Convention on Human Rights.

The Movement for the Restitution of Parliamentary Democracy aims to restore to the sovereignty of our elected representatives in many ways, but its first objective is to renounce Articles 25 and 46. See more at www.25-46.com
